Filmmakers Joe Dante and Roger Corman are teaming for “Little Shop of Halloween Horrors,” a reboot of the latter’s famed 1960 horror comedy.

“Gremlins” director Dante and “Gremlins 2: The New Batch” writer Charles S. Haas are serving in those capacities here with Corman and Brad Krevoy producing.

Co-starring a young Jack Nicholson, the original “Little Shop of Horrors” was a cult shoestring budget classic about a florist who discovered a strange plant with a craving for human flesh.

As the plant grows, Seymour must feed it victims to keep it satisfied, leading to a series of darkly comedic and increasingly twisted events.

The film was famously shot on a budget of $28,000. Interiors were shot in two days utilizing sets that had been left standing from “A Bucket of Blood”.

The property became more famous two decades later when a 1982 off-Broadway stage musical adaptation became the 1986 Frank Oz-directed film starring Rick Moranis and Steve Martin – snagging Oscars for visual effects and original song.

Said musical enjoyed a 2003 Broadway debut and a 2019 off-Broadway revival. Greg Berlanti was attached to a ‘Little Shop’ remake back in 2016.
