CBS has renewed its Justin Hartley-led drama series “Tracker” for a second season just weeks after the series launched just after the Super Bowl.
It currently ranks as the No. 1 show according to Nielsen, with 16 million multiplatform viewers tuning in and reportedly marks the network’s most-watched new series since “Young Sheldon” back in 2017.
The order marks the first CBS series renewal for the 2024-25 broadcast season. It is one of only two new originals to launch for the 2023-24 season with “The Good Wife” spin-off “Elsbeth” being the other – that one launching late last week.
Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment says in a statement:
“Tracker kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going. We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series and the overwhelming audience response confirms it.”
Based on the best-selling novel by Jeffery Deaver, Hartley plays Colter Shaw – a lone-wolf survivalist with extensive tracking skills who travels the country and makes his living aiding law enforcement and private citizens in exchange for reward money.
