Aaron Taylor-Johnson will re-team with “Starred Up” and “Hell or High Water” filmmaker David Mackenzie for the new contemporary heist thriller feature “Fuze”.
The pair, who previously teamed on the period piece “Outlaw King,” team up for the story, which begins when an unexploded WWII bomb gets discovered on a construction site in London. It becomes the perfect cover for a high-stakes robbery.
Ben Hopkins (“Inside”) pens the script for the film and it’s unclear what role Taylor-Johnson will play in the film at present. He is currently the only actor to have been cast.
Mackenzie says in a statement in the press release announcing the project:
“I had the idea of combining all the high stakes of an unexploded bomb with that of a bank robbery – clashing these two genres to create as much pressure as possible -in a context that feels as real as possible. Ben Hopkins took those ingredients and cooked up the compelling script that we are now taking into production.”
Gillian Berries, Sebastian Raybaud and Callum Grant produce whilst Giles Nuttgens will serve as director of photography. Taylor-Johnson will be seen later this year in the Sony-Marvel film “Kraven The Hunter”.
