By Actress, comedian and musician Kate Micucci (“The Big Bang Theory,” “DuckTales”) has launched development of the new animated series “Toy”.
Micucci will star in, produce and create music for the cartoon, and reportedly has already recorded a first go at the theme song.
The story is based on the popular 2023 Keenspot comic created by Brett Murphy and Wilson Gandolpho which currently has around half a dozen issues released.
It follows the adventures of a floppy-eared inventor named Toy (who is also a Toy) who has two friends – an ever-hungry crocodile and a skillful human girl – who help him defend the small town of Rockledge against the machinations of evil kitty-cat CEO Lily Buttercup.
Tobi Wilson (“The Amazing World of Gumball”) is attached as showrunner and co-producer. Chris Crosby, Bobby Crosby, and David Campiti will produce.
