“Ocean’s 11” duo Brad Pitt and George Clooney will be seen later this year reuniting on “Wolfs,” a new action-comedy which hails from Tom Holland-led “Spider-Man” trilogy director Jon Watts.
Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan co-star in the film which began production in January from a script by Watts. The Apple Studios film sees the pair play two lone wolf fixers who are assigned to the same job.
Further specifics of the plot remain under wraps. Apple is set to release the movie theatrically through Sony Pictures, a similar arrangement to Ridley Scott’s “Napoleon” this year.
Speaking with Total Film recently, Clooney offered some new details about his character in the film and the overall tone of the picture:
“He’s a sad, sad guy. He’s angry. He’s getting old. He’s turning 60 in a couple of weeks. It’s all downhill for him after that.
Uh… It’s a really good movie. I love this guy, Jon Watts. What a director. It’s out there. We just did a screening of it, and the place kind of went bats–t for it. So, we’re excited about it. We think it’s a really fun, dark – very dark – nutty film… It feels like an R-rated Ocean’s film.”
Clooney, Pitt, Grant Heslov, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Dianne McGunigle produce the film which will open in cinemas on September 20th.
