Santa Monica Studios have announced that last year’s acclaimed game “God of War: Ragnarok” is getting some impressive and free DLC – and it’s coming sooner than you think.
Revealed during The Game Awards, “God of War: Ragnarok – Valhalla” will be an expansion to the PlayStation exclusive (likely for PS5 only ala ‘Burning Shores’ for “Horizon: Forbidden West”). Not only will the new content cost nothing extra, but it’s arriving on consoles this coming Tuesday December 12th.
Events of the DLC take place after the main game. Players embark with Kratos to Valhalla on a deeply personal and reflective journey towards a future he never thought possible
Players must master challenges of mind and body on an unravelling adventure that blends the beloved combat from the base game with brand-new elements inspired by the rogue-lite genre.
“God of War: Ragnarok” was released last year, winning six Game Awards and became the fastest-selling first-party game – selling 5.1 million units in its first week, and had sold over 11 million units by the 75-day mark.
As the game effectively wraps up the Norse arc of the franchise, it’s not clear where the franchise will go next or when we’ll see another entry.
