Three months after it aired, Apple TV+ has cancelled its drama series “Swagger” after two seasons. Isaiah Hill starred as a high school basketball star in a series that follows his journey. The show was loosely inspired by the life of NBA star Kevin Durant who executive produces. Reggie Rock Bythewood created the series and served as showrunner. [Source: THR]
Faerie
Amazon MGM Studios and The Jim Henson Company are teaming to develop “Faerie,” a ‘modern Henson family adventure’ series based on the work of Brian and Wendy Froud.
When the Faeries kidnap an unsuspecting father, his family must venture into the Faerie realm to rescue him. Through their journey, they will discover their inner strength and unique potential, challenging the expectations that the human world has put upon them. [Source: Variety]
Only Murders in the Building
The first season of Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” will air on ABC this winter with all ten episodes of the acclaimed murder mystery to screen across four Tuesdays in January. Three episode blocks will run each week on January 2nd, 9th and 16th with the single episode finale on the 23rd. [Source: TV Line]
Marvel Zombies
Ms. Marvel’s Kamala Khan will be the central character of the upcoming animated “Marvel Zombies” spin-off series coming to Disney+ next year. She adds those involved have already recorded all their work.
Actress Iman Vellani confirmed her role’s importance recently, saying Kamala’s part in the series is the “basically the Frodo of the story” – referring to the lead character of “The Lord of the Rings” franchise. [Source: The Direct]
King Raven
Director/producer Brent Ryan Green has optioned the film and television rights to develop and produce an adaptation of Stephen R. Lawhead’s historical novel trilogy “King Raven”.
The books set the tale of Robin Hood in the late 11th century amid the Norman invasion of Wales and each book is told from the viewpoint of a member of the Sherwood Forest clan in an entirely new setting. [Source: Variety]
