The Winter Solider himself, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Sebastian Stan, will play a young Donald Trump in Iranian filmmaker Ali Abbasi’s new film “The Apprentice”.

The project will examine Trump’s efforts to build his real estate business in New York in the 1970s and 1980s, along with digging into his relationship with attorney Roy Cohn. “Succession” star Jeremy Strong has been cast as Cohn.

“The Loudest Voice in the Room” author Gabriel Sherman is penning the script for the filmmaker who helmed the acclaimed “Holy Spider” and the final two episodes of the first season run of HBO’s “The Last of Us”.

The news comes as the former U.S. President stands trial in New York for fraud along with being currently under multiple indictments in multiple cases. He is still the current Republican frontrunner for 2024.

Stan has been busy lately and has played various real-life figures before including Tommy Lee in the “Pam & Tommy” mini-series, Jeff Gilooly in “I, Tonya,” and Robinhood Markets CEO Vladimir Tenev in “Dumb Money”.

He’s also been in “Fresh,” “Sharper,” the upcoming “A Different Man” and will soon begin work filming Marvel Studios’ “Thunderbolts”.
