Netflix has premiered a full trailer for “Berlin,” the spin-off of their massive Spanish heist crime drama series “Money Heist” (La Casa de Papel).
The new series focuses on fan favorite character Andres de Fonollosa/Berlin (Pedro Alonso), the terminally ill grand larcenist, jewel thief and cracksman who is also the older brother of the heist’s mastermind, The Professor (Alvaro Morte).
The story will unfold in the years before the biggest heist Spain had ever seen, expanding upon the flashbacks seen in the later seasons of “Money Heist” when Berlin had more empathy.
Creator Alex Pina had previously described it as ‘a trip through the golden age of the character when he robbed around Europe crazy in love’ – namely a heist involving $44 million worth of jewels.
The series also stars Michelle Jenner as cybersecurity mastermind Keila, Begona Vargas as loose cannon Cameron, Julio Peña as locksmith Roi, Marcel Gonzalez as Jean, Tristan Ulloa as academic Damian, Joel Sanchez as weaponry expert Bruce, and Yuri D. Brown as Bertrand.
“Berlin” is set to premiere in full on the service on December 29th.
