A third film in “The Babysitter” franchise is still happening says director and producer McG.
McG helmed the 2017 Netflix comedy horror film which subsequently spawned a sequel titled “The Babysitter: Killer Queen”. A third one has yet to be confirmed by the streamer.
The original film’s story follows a lonely and awkward 12-year-old boy (Judah Lewis) who discovers that his babysitter (Samara Weaving) is part of a satanic cult that wants to kill him. Emily Alyn Lind, Bella Thorne, Hana Mae Lee, Andrew Bachelor and Robbie Amell co-starred.
In a new interview with ComicBook.com to promote his new family comedy “Family Switch,” McG says he’s still pushing for a third film:
“Yeah, we’re still talking about it. It was fun. The first movie, obviously, gave Samara Weaving to the world, and the second movie was Jenna Ortega. Hopefully we can answer the call and find a third star that reaches those lofty heights.”
McG’s first film in the series scored a quite good critical response whilst the second in 2020 wasn’t so well received. McG previously told the media back when the second was released that he already had ideas for a third.
