The upcoming “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” marks the end of the DCEU and likely Jason Momoa’s final outing as the undersea hero.

HIs future with the DC Universe however seems fairly bright, whatever that may be. During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, was asked about his Aquaman role and his overall status in the DC world.

He says: “I mean, this is kind of like the end of this DCEU universe. Unless, you know, things have happened before so… I guess if people like it. But yeah, there will always be a place for me at DC. They like me.”

Rumors have swirled for months of Momoa potentially stepping down as Aquaman to play Lobo for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Studios. Safran himself said a while back Momoa will have a place in the new DCU.

James Wan helms “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” which sees Aquaman now King of Atlantis. His imprisoned half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) will have to help Aquaman to stop Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) who has obtained the Black Trident – an ancient weapon is powerful enough to wipe out anyone who might stand in his way.

“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” premieres in theaters on December 22nd.
