Godfather of Harlem
Epix has renewed the Forest Whitaker-led drama series “Godfather of Harlem” for a third season. Vincent D’Onofrio, Ilfenesh Hadera, Nigél Thatch, Lucy Fry and Antoinette Crowe-Legacy are also all returning for the new ten-episode run which will begin shooting in New York this Summer. Shadow and Bone
Netflix’s young-adult fantasy series “Shadow and Bone” has added more names for its second season which recently began production on eight episodes. In addition, Danielle Galligan, Daisy Head and Calahan Skogman have been upgraded to regulars.
Joining them are Lewis Tan (“Mortal Kombat”) and Anna Leong Brophy (“Back”) who will play Tolya Kir-Bataar and Tamar Kir-Bataar respectively while Patrick Gibson (“The OA”) is Nikolai Lantsov and Jack Wolfe (“The Witcher”) will play Wylan Hendricks. [Source: Variety]
State of the Union
SundanceTV has unveiled the trailer for the second season of anthology comedy series “State of the Union” which follows couples having intense and blunt conversations about their relationships.
Rosamund Pike and Chris O’Dowd led the first season, while Patricia Clarkson and Brendan Gleeson will lead the second as a couple married for thirty years. The new season premieres on February 14th on SundanceTV, Sundance Now and AMC+
The Legend of Vox Machina
The red-band trailer has been released for the animated fantasy-adventure series “The Legend of Vox Machina” which kicks off January 28th on Amazon Prime. Three episodes will premiere each week over four weeks.
Based on the characters and adventures of Critical Role’s first live-streamed tabletop RPG campaign, the series follows a band of misfits who end up on a quest to save the realm of Exandria from dark magical forces. Laura Bailey, Ashley Johnson, Taliesin Jaffe and Liam O’Brien lend their voices.
Power Book IV: Force
STARZ has released the trailer for “Power Book IV: Force,” the next series in the franchise with this following fan favorite Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) after the loss of ‘Ghost’. The series premieres February 6th.
Set in Chicago, Egan builds a growing list of enemies and finds himself entangled in new relationships after leaving the Big Apple for the Windy City. He soon gets caught up in a dangerous Chicago drug ring. Isaac Keys, Lili Simmons and Gabrielle Ryan also star.
