By Netflix has cancelled the eight-episode Michelle Yeoh-led crime action series “The Brothers Sun” after just one season.
The show premiered two months ago and saw Yeoh starring as Eileen Sun, a shrewd woman who built a life for herself and her youngest son Bruce (Sam Song Li) in Los Angeles after leaving the world of Taiwan’s gangsters and crime behind.
Her past catches up with her when her eldest son, the hardened criminal Charles (Justin Chien), shows up following the assassination of his crime boss father.
He’s come there to try and keep his mother and brother safe as Taipei’s deadliest societies arrive at their doorstep. Along the way, Bruce and Eileen try to heal the wounds caused by their separation and figure out what family truly means.
Highdee Kuan, Joon Lee, Jenny Yang, Johnny Kou and Jon Xue Zhang co-starred in the series co-created by Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu.
