A sneak peek in Vanity Fair has shown the first images of Bill Skarsgard and FKA Twigs in the upcoming remake of The Crow. The Lionsgate project is a remake and reimagining of the now classic 1994 movie. That movie was famously Brandon Lee’s final film. He died in a tragic on-set accident during filming just as his star was on the rise.

Like the original, it remains based on the graphic novel about the character created by James O’Barr and tells the story of a man who is brutally murdered alongside his fiancee. He comes back to life as a vengeful spirit to hunt down those who took everything from him.

Rupert Sanders (Snow White And The Huntsman, Ghost In The Shell) directs from a script by Zach Baylin and Will Schneider.

The Crow co-stars Danny Huston, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila, and Jordan Bolger.

It was shot on location in Prague and Munich on a $50 million budget, so if it captures imaginations like the first movie, they could be on to a winner. The sequels and other entries into the franchise were less successful and never captured the attention as the first movie did.

Victor Hadida, Molly Hassell, John Jencks, Samuel Hadida, and Edward R. Pressman produce.

The Crow remake is in theaters from June 7th.
