The 28-minute special of “Bluey,” an episode titled “The Sign” and four times as long as an average episode of the cartoon, has finally set an air date.
The special will screen in Bluey’s home country of Australia on Sunday April 14th from 8am AU-EST on ABC and ABC iView.
In addition, a regular-sized new episode titled “Ghostbasket” will air a week before on April 7th. Details of the story of either episode are under wraps.
After their airing, the episodes will become available to stream globally on Disney+ at a later and currently undisclosed date.
Ten new episodes of the series premiered on Disney+ in the U.S. in January, bringing the series up to date with Australia where those episodes aired last May/June.
In 2023, the animated series sensation racked up 43.9 billion viewing minutes – making it the No. 1 series for preschoolers and kids and the No. 2 most-streamed series across all audiences in the United States according to ratings giant Nielsen.
The show has become one of Australia’s most successful cultural exports and is watched by adults and children alike around the world.
