One of the biggest success stories of the holiday box-office was “Anyone But You,” Sony Pictures’ romantic comedy starring Glenn Powell and Sydney Sweeney.
Made for a reported $25 million production budget, the film passed the $189 million mark at the worldwide box office this past weekend and is still holding in there after many weeks.
The film has also reportedly broken a record for the highest-grossing live-action Shakespeare adaptation (it’s a spin on “Much Ado About Nothing”).
Speaking at the “Madame Web” premiere last week, Sweeney told E! News that there has been talk of a sequel: “I can’t actually reveal all of my secrets, but Glen and I – I mean, I was talking to him this morning. We’re talking about stuff.”
Directed by Will Gluck, the story follows two people who find themselves unexpectedly thrust together at a destination wedding in Australia. So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.
The comments come as the film hits digital storefronts today for sell-through and rental.
