Jennifer Garner is reportedly in talks to join Matt Damon in the Ben Affleck-directed Netflix crime thriller “Animals” according to The InSneider.
The project would mark the first time that Affleck directs his ex-wife in a movie, with Garner being eyed to play Damon’s wife in the film – though no official deal has been signed yet.
Garner and Affleck were married for thirteen years with three children together. Since their divorce in 2018, they have maintained a good relationship and co-parent their kids.
The crime thriller concerns a mayoral candidate and his wife whose son is kidnapped, Surrounded by plenty of enemies, political and otherwise, the husband and wife have no choice but to get their hands dirty in order to save their son.
“Animals” is written by Connor McIntyre and Billy Ray. Affleck and Damon are producing along with Dani Bernfeld, Brad Weston, and Collin Creighton. Shooting aims to begin filming in Los Angeles this March.
Both Garner and Affleck have worked with Netflix multiple times in recent years – Garner on “Yes Day,” “The Adam Project” and “Family Switch” whilst Affleck starred in “Triple Frontier” and “The Last Thing He Wanted” for the service.
