It’s finally official – the full cast of Marvel Studios’ “Fantastic Four” has been revealed and they are exactly what the rumors have been saying.
Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby will play the Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn will play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bacharach will star as Ben Grimm/The Thing.
Other roles rumored in recent months have included Javier Bardem as planet-devouring cosmic character Galactus, and Anya Taylor-Joy as his silver-skinned herald The Silver Surfer but none of those have been confirmed yet.
Matt Shakman directs the film from a script by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer, based on characters created by Stan Lee.
In the comics Reed Richards can stretch to extraordinary lengths, Sue Storm can turn invisible and create telekinetic force fields, Johnny Storm can fly and control fire, and Grimm becomes a walking pile of rocks.
20th Century Fox made three previous movies with the characters, none of which were well-regarded, but this marks the first time they’ve incorporated the characters in the MCU bar a “Doctor Strange And The Multiverse of Madness” cameo with John Krasinski.
Marvel Studios also announced it is moving up “Thunderbolts” to the start of summer on May 2nd 2025 – essentially swapping places with “Fantastic Four” which will now open July 25th 2025.
