Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson is reportedly set to lead the true-crime thriller “Featherwood” which will be sold at EFM market in Berlin.
Johansson will portray Carol Blevins, a heroin addict and ‘featherwood’ (aka. the property of a gang member) who became one of the FBI’s most important informants.
She was key to an epic six-year investigation into the murderous, neo-Nazi crime and drug syndicate known as the Aryan Brotherhood Of Texas.
Blevins lived with the gang, memorising details, helping to ultimately convict thirteen members of the group. Her journey left her with significant physical and mental scars, and is under constant threat of reprisal by the ABT.
Pulitzer Prize finalist Scott Farwell penned the award-winning, six-part article that will be used as the source material for the script by Ned Benson (“Black Widow”)
“American Honey” and “Fish Tank” director Andrea Arnold will helm the project whilst Johansson will produce with Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn.
