Peacock has premiered the first trailer for “Megamind vs. The Doom Syndicate,” the sequel to DreamWorks’ 2010 animated superhero comedy.
The story will follow Megamind as he traverses life as a hero, takes on a young crime-fighting apprentice, and fights against the new evil: his former group, the Doom Syndicate.
The latter think Megamind is still a villain and so it’s up to Metro City’s primary hero to play along until he can figure out a way to stop them from launching Metro City to the moon.
The all-star voice cast of the original – Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill and David Cross – arem’t back with the new cast being Adam Lambert, Chris Sullivan, Tony Hale, Keith Ferguson, Laura Post, Josh Brener, Maya and Aoki Tuttle.
That’s not all though as the clip confirms a March 1st premiere not just for that film but also for the new TV series “Megamind Rules!”. The series was first announced two years ago.
In it, Megamind goes from being a supervillain and the scourge of Metro City to a superhero who’s learning on the job. He’ll be bringing the audience along for the ride, as Megamind’s trusty brainbots will be recording everything, making him the world’s first superhero influencer.
