“Top Gun: Maverick” star Miles Teller is in talks to join Antoine Fuqua’s Michael Jackson biopic “Michael” currently filming for Lionsgate and Universal Pictures International.
No deal is yet in place for Teller who is reportedly set to play an attorney, but which one is not clear as Jackson had several key attornies in his life.
Teller would join a swelling cast that now includes Michael Jackson’s actual nephew Jaafar Jackson as Michael along with Colman Domingo and Nia Long as parents Joe and Katherine Jackson respectively.
John Logan (“Gladiator,” “The Aviator”) wrote the script and the official synopsis says this will tell the “never-before-told and in-depth portrayal of the complicated man who became the King of Pop. [It] will explore all aspects of Michael’s life, including his most iconic performances that led him to become the greatest entertainer of all time.”
Jackson was the most-awarded musician in history. Over a four-decade career, he was a global figure who influenced artists across many music genres. From the late 1980s through to his death in 2009 at age 50, Jackson became a figure of controversy, speculation and investigation due to his physical appearance, relationships, behavior, and lifestyle.
Graham King is producing the film which is currently aiming for an April 18th 2025 theatrical release.
