The Marvel Television series of Netflix – including “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” “The Defenders,” “The Punisher” and even “Iron Fist,” are now seemingly canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Disney+ has updated the Marvel section of their streaming service to incorporate the various shows officially into the ‘Timeline Order’ alongside the Marvel Studios titile.
The ‘Timeline Order’ section features each canon film and series in the chronological order in which they take place in the MCU. Non-canon projects like “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” and “Inhumans” are not a part of the list.
According to the MCU, “Daredevil” and “Jessica Jones” take place between “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist” and “The Defenders” are just before “Captain America: Civil War,” and “The Punisher” is just before “Doctor Strange”.
The inclusion follows the release of all five episodes of “Echo” last night on the service which sees the return of several “Daredevil” characters.
Disney is also working on the “Daredevil: Born Again” series which is being retooled and will return to filming soon ahead of a 2025 release.
