It has been a busy day or so for rumors regarding the DC Universe, enough that DC Studios chief and “Superman: Legacy” director James Gunn has responded to some reports.
First up, he confirms on Threads that there are no plans to reveal David Corenswet in the Superman costume before filming begins in March, saying the chances are “0.0” of that happening.
Studio-approved superhero outfit photo reveals generally take place just prior to any outdoor or location filming on a movie to try and get ahead of paparazzi images spoiling the reveal.
Gunn has also debunked a recent rumor regarding the villains of Matt Reeves’ “The Batman: Part II” with wild rumors that Professor Pyg, Scarecrow, Clayface and Hush would all be a part of the film, Gunn calling the report “totally made up”.
Gunn also cleared up acclaimed writer Tom King’s role in the new DCU, calling him an “integral part” and not just as a part of the upcoming “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” film.
Gunn says: “He’s one of the first people I showed the Superman script, asking for notes. He’s included in various ways in numerous other projects, including WoT.”
The debunking hasn’t stopped further rumors from flourshing, such as one at DanielRPK (via Home of DCU) which claims “The Flash” actress Sasha Calle is not returning as Supergirl, and a new actress will be picked for the role soon as they will allegedly make their debut in “Superman: Legacy”.
