Actor Jonathan Majors is out at Marvel Studios, with THR indicating that the actor has been let go from the mega-franchise.
The firing comes just hours after a Manhattan jury found Majors guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and guilty of harassment following a two-week trial which stemmed from a March incident between himself and his ex-partner, Grace Jabbari.
Before his March arrest, Majors was positioned as a key figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward – serving as the multi-film spanning time-traveling villain Kang the Conqueror.
The actor appeared in both seasons of “Loki,” was the main villain of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and was set to be a major part of “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” opening in May 2026.
The studio still reportedly intends to move forward with the film, and in November hired “Loki” creator Michael Waldron to work on a new draft on what is now being dubbed ‘Avengers 5’.
Marvel has previously recast in the past over creative and financial disputes such as with Terrence Howard and Edward Norton who were replaced by Don Cheadle and Mark Ruffalo respectively. This marks the first one for legal troubles.
Up until earlier this year, Majors had been considered one of the top rising actors in Hollywood with acclaimed turns in “Creed III,” “Lovecraft Country” “Da 5 Bloods” and more.
The fate of his body building drama “Magazine Dreams,” which premiered at Sundance in January 2023, remains in limbo with distributor Searchlight pulling it from the calendar a while back with no release date in sight.
