Dexter: Resurrection is already bringing plenty of new killers into Dexter Morgan’s life, but season 2 is also adding another kind of treat: horror royalty. Barbara Crampton, one of the most recognizable actresses in cult horror, has revealed that she will appear in the upcoming second season of Dexter: Resurrection. The actress shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set showing herself alongside Michael C. Hall, leaving little mystery about the project she had been teasing on social media.
Exactly who she is playing, however, remains a mystery. The actress has referred to her involvement as an “appearance,” which could indicate a relatively small role. That said, there is plenty of room for speculation about what kind of character she might be playing.
Crampton became a major name in genre cinema during the 1980s thanks to movies including Re-Animator, From Beyond, Puppet Master, and Chopping Mall. She later became an important part of modern horror, appearing in films such as You’re Next, We Are Still Here, Beyond the Gates, and Jakob’s Wife. That makes her appearance in Dexter: Resurrection a fun piece of genre casting.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Is Already Packed With Killers
Crampton isn’t the only horror connection coming to Dexter: Resurrection. As previously reported, Kane Hodder is also appearing in season 2. Hodder is best known to horror fans for playing Jason Voorhees in four Friday the 13th movies.
Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter Morgan, while Jack Alcott is back as Harrison. Returning cast members also include Uma Thurman, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington, and James Remar.
The second season has also added Dan Stevens, Bokeem Woodbine, Nona Parker Johnson and Brian Cox as series regulars, with Krysten Ritter and Gabriel Luna appearing in guest roles. Cox is playing the notorious New York Ripper, a serial killer with decades of murders behind him. Stevens plays Owen Stark, also known as the Five Borough Killer, while Luna plays the Sleepy-Eyed Stranger. Dexter has no shortage of dangerous people to worry about.
What Is Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 About?
Season 2 picks up after the events of Dexter: Resurrection season 1 and sends Dexter back into a deadly game in New York. The official premise has Dexter caught between two killers: one is an experienced murderer whose reputation has been built over decades, while the other is a younger killer terrorizing the city in an entirely different way. At the same time, Harrison continues his own pursuit of justice, putting father and son on another dangerous path together. And Dexter may have one more problem this time around: a mid-life crisis.
When Does Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Premiere?
Dexter: Resurrection season 2 premieres Friday, October 30, 2026, exclusively on Paramount+. The new season comes from Emmy-nominated showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, with Michael C. Hall also returning as an executive producer.
