The one and only legend that is filmmaker John Waters has scored a key role in new episodes of “Chucky” coming next year.
EW broke the news, revealing the “Serial Mom” and “Pink Flamingos” director will play Wendell Wilkins, the reclusive creator of the Good Guy doll line.
Wilkins gets drawn into the psychopathic Chucky’s tangled web in an episode that will be a part of the second half of the third season.
Waters famously played a tabloid photographer named Pete Peters who gets dissolved by sulphuric acid in 2004’s fifth “Child’s Play” film “Seed of Chucky” – a role he says he’s been recognized on the subway for.
He marks the latest actor to portray another role in the franchise, such as Devon Sawa who has played a different character each season on the series.
Waters occasionally shows up in guest spots on TV series, prior to this he popped up on episodes of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Search Party,” “Bubble Guppies,” “Law & Order: SVU” and “The Blacklist”.
The second half of the third season of “Chucky” will premiere on Syfy and USA Network in 2024. Previous seasons are now on Peacock.
