Dennis Quaid: Action Star

Jason Statham was The Beekeeper. Now, Dennis Quaid is The Florist. The Florist follows the action trope of a former assassin, who has since retired and lives a normal life at a menial job, but must use his particular set of skills to help someone in great need. Dennis Quaid has dabbled in some action in the past, but this looks to be a rare full-on John Wick, gun-toting, bullet ballet. The movie also stars Jean Reno, who also famously played an assassin in León: The Professional. The film also co-stars Sky Katz (Raven’s Home). Saban Films has now released the trailer, which you can check out above.

The Florist

Babak Najafi (London Has Fallen) directs the movie from a screenplay written by Eran Creevy (Welcome To The Punch) and Scott Windhauser (Mafia Wars). Anna Schafer (The Trials of Cate McCall), Leonidas Gulaptis (A Nice Girl Like You) and Dylan Flashner (The Card Counter) are also featured in the film.

According to Deadline, the movie “follows Carl Rikker (Dennis Quaid), an introverted, quiet horticulturist who loves his day job. However, he holds a dark secret – at night, he moonlights as a ruthless assassin. His identity is threatened when he forms an unlikely friendship with a teenage girl.”

Saban Films is distributing the film in North America. The producers on board for the project include Ellen Wander and Jordan Dykstra of Film Bridge International, as well as Jina Panebianco of CaliWood Pictures, and Gabriel Georgiev of Midwest. Ceasar Richbow and Latavius Powell also serve as producers on the film. Meanwhile, Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor and Grady Craig of Bondit Media Capital, Volcanic Films’ Justin Hawkins and Ben Demaree, and Denisa Juhos all serve as executive producers on the action movie. Additionally, executive producers for Caliwood Pictures are John D. Strahley and R. Wesley Sierk. Three Point Capital’s David Gendron, Ali Jazayeri and Stefan Klink are also serving on the list of executive producers.
