Lionsgate has premiered the trailer for the thriller “Miller’s Girl” starring Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman.
The official synopsis says the story follows a talented young writer (Ortega) who embarks on a creative odyssey when her teacher (Freeman) assigns a project that entangles them both in an increasingly complex web.
As lines blur and their lives intertwine, professor and protégé must confront their darkest selves while straining to preserve their individual sense of purpose and the things they hold most dear.
Gideon Adlon, Bashir Salahuddin, Dagmara Dominczyk and Christine Adams also star. The project is written and directed by Jade Hailey Bartlett who adapted the screenplay from her own 2011 original play.
Her script for the film made the Black List back in 2016 which is when Seth Rogen’s company Point Grey Pictures acquired it. Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Josh Fagen and Mary-Margaret Kunze produce.
The film will have its world premiere in early January at the Palm Springs Film Festival ahead of a January 26th theatrical release.
