“Birdman” aside, if you’re going to see an Alejandro González Iñárritu-directed film, you’re in for a long one.
That’s expected to remain the case with “Digger,” the Tom Cruise-led dark comedy opening this Fall that appears to be the filmmaker’s longest film to date.
A Digger fan account on X, citing exhibitor Odeon’s official app, claims that the film’s runtime clocks in at 160 minutes (2hr 40mins), longer than his previous films “Bardo” (159m), “The Revenant” (156m), “Amores Perrod” (156m), “Biutiful” (148m), and “Babel” (143m).
The account adds that the long runtime fits with reports they have heard out of test screenings. However, Warner Bros. Pictures has NOT officially confirmed the film’s runtime at present.
A new trailer for the film is tipped to be attached to copies of “The End of Oak Street” when that film opens in cinemas next Friday.
Meanwhile, the film’s budget remains a source of speculation with a Warner’s spokesperson telling Puck News that it comes in at $125 million, though the actual number is rumoured to be much higher.
Sandra Hüller, Jesse Plemons, John Goodman, Riz Ahmed, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sophie Wilde, and Emma D’Arcy co-star in the film, which opens in cinemas on October 2nd.
