Microsoft’s “Halo: Campaign Evolved” recently launched on the PlayStation 5, but new data suggests barely anyone noticed.
Tech4Gamers reports that across its launch week, the title had the 4th highest daily active users across Xbox Series X|S consoles – which was around 8% of the said daily active users.
It was 14th highest on Steam, or around 2%, and a woeful 29th place on PlayStation – engaging just 1% of daily active users for this remaster of the original “Halo: Combat Evolved”.
The low uptake has stirred debate – some say the “Halo” franchise’s appeal has long faded. Others say PlayStation users stick to Sony exclusives and live-service hits.
The game pulled in a pretty good 80/100 with critics on Metacritic, but audience votes have trashed it at 5.7/10. Some of that ties to forced Microsoft account linking for the PS5 version, but a lot of the reviewers are screaming “DEI” and “Woke”.
“Halo: Campaign Evolved” is now available on all platforms.
