Actor Vin Diesel is at it again on social media.
The actor shared an update on the eleventh and final installment in the “Fast and the Furious” franchise today, with a posting on Instagram.
In the post, which was to promote the upcoming 25th anniversary re-release of the original film on August 21st, he says he’s determined that the finale will be a fitting emotional climax to the series.
He also indicated where things stand right now – confirming the most recent writer on the project, Michael Leslie, has turned in a script:
“You have no idea… When March 17th 2028 comes… you will thank God you got to see the first one in the theaters this summer. I just read the Fast Forever script by Mike Leslie. It is the best script I have read in decades. I am still crying.”
The post also comes after comments by “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson earlier this week in which the actor said Diesel and Universal Pictures are “solving some big problems” related to the film – a lot of it coming down to expense.
The film is expected to rein in the budget after “Fast X” cost a jaw-dropping $378 million to make and grossed only $714 million worldwide.
No cast for the next entry has been announced as yet. Louis Leterrier is expected to return as director, though not confirmed as yet.
