Unsurprisingly, RPG sensation “Baldur’s Gate 3” took home the biggest honor of Game of the Year at this year’s tenth annual Game Awards. The title won six honors in all including Best RPG and Best Multiplayer.
Remedy’s “Alan Wake 2” was also a big winner, taking three honors for Best Narrative, Best Art Direction and Best Game Direction. Both titles were up against “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” “Resident Evil 4” Remake, “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” and “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” for the Game of the Year honor.
Other winners included HBO’s “The Last of Us” for Best Adaptation, “Sea of Stars” for Best Indie Game, “Cocoon” for Best Debut Indie Game, “Honkai: Star Rail” for Best Mobile Game, and “Resident Evil Village VR Mode” for Best VR Game.
In terms of genres, “Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon” won Best Action Game, ‘Zelda’ took Best Action/Adventure Game, “Street Fighter 6” won Best Fighting Game, “Super Mario Bros. Wonder” won Best Family Game, “Pikmin 4” Best Sim Game, and “Forza Motorsport” Best Sports Game and Innovation in Accessibility.
Other winners also included “Final Fantasy XVI” for Best Score, “Cyberpunk 2077” for Best Ongoing Game, “Hi-Fi Rush” for Best Audio Design, and “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth” for Most Anticipated Game. Here are the full list of winners and nominees:
