The future of FX’s Ryan Murphy series “The Beauty” looks to be on shaky ground as cast options on the project have lapsed.
As a result, the various actors on the show are moving onto other projects, with series leads Evan Peters and Rebecca Hall moving onto “American Horror Story” Season 13, and the Dan Brown series adaptation “The Secret Of Secrets,” respectively.
The release of the cast does not necessarily mean that the show cannot continue as the characters undergo physical transformations – opening the door to recasting.
That said, the sci-fi body horror series launched back in January and six months on there’s still no sign of a renewal and the trades indicate there’s “no current plans” for more episodes.
Reviews were mixed, the budget was expensive, and while the trailer landed a record number of reviews, strong initial viewership didn’t last across the season.
Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope, Vincent D’Onofrio, Anthony Rapp and John Carroll Lynch co-starred.
