Wes Anderson and Bill Murray have teased that the pair are set to work on a Western project.
The pair appeared together on stage in Paris as part of Cinema Paradiso, a festival that has this year transformed the Louvre courtyard into an open-air cinema. Anderson was on hand for a “The Grand Budapest Hotel” screening when Murray appeared.
Murray said: “The movie I want to make is a cowboy movie, because he’s (Anderson) from Texas, and I feel he owes the world a cowboy movie.”
Anderson confirmed that he and Murray have spent “many years” talking about making a western:
“We will do a Western, you know. I think. For many years, we’ve talked about doing a Western. Owen and Luke Wilson, I think, will be a part of that… They’re from Texas, too, and I think it’s our destiny.”
Murray has long been a fixture in Anderson’s works, participating in ten of the director’s films over nearly three decades.
