Netflix has premiered the first official trailer for “Alley Cats,” a new six-episode adult animated series created by comedian Ricky Gervais.
Blink Industries is handling the 2D animation on the series, which follows a gang of foul-mouthed feral cats who cause havoc while musing on the meaning of life and fighting for survival in a brutal human world.
The voice cast includes Gervais, Diane Morgan, Kerry Goldiman, Tom Basden, Jo Hartley, David Earl, Tony Way, Andrew Brooke and Natalie Cassidy.
Gervais is at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival this week, where the trailer debuted. He’s delivering a masterclass and recently announced a Netflix special and UK tour.
On this show, he serves as creator, writer and director while Elliot Dear is co-directing. Steven Hamilton Shaw, James Stevenson Bretton and Ben Lole executive produce.
“Alley Cats” will premiere on the service on August 7th.
