Paramount Animation has announced that it is teaming with CBS to develop an animated comedy feature film adaptation of the long-running reality competition series “Survivor”.
The show’s host Jeff Probst will executive produce the film which will feature animal contestants from around the globe gathering on a remote and mystical island.
There, they will compete for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to earn the crown and the title of Sole Survivor. This marks the first time the franchise has expanded into animated theatrical territory.
Probst says in a statement on social media: “[This] will be an all-out comedy… setting it in the world of animals gives us a whole new playground.”
He adds that “everything we love about Survivor” will be there including “big personalities, funny characters, surprising alliances, competition, chaos and a lot of heart.”
Paramount Animation recently announced “The Naughty List” from Robert Rodriguez and will release “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie” in August.
