
Rivals
Disney+ and Hulu have announced that a third season of twelve episodes of its sexy hit drama “Rivals” is in the works based on Dame Jilly Cooper’s iconic Rutshire Chronicles novels.
David Tennant, Alex Hassell, Aidan Turner, Bella Maclean, Nafessa Williams, Victoria Smurfit, Claire Rushbrook and Danny Dyer star in the series which aired the first half of the second season in May with the back half coming in November. [Source: THR]
The Pitt
Filming officially started on Tuesday on the third season of “The Pitt” with a video announcing the news, the clip showing off the ID badges of the main characters. The new run will take place on a day in November.
The new season sees a new series regular with Ayesha Harris as Dr. Parker Ellis following her previously recurring as a member of the night-shift team. Supriya Ganesh has exited as fan favorite Dr. Samira Mohan. Sepideh Moafi’s Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi and Shabana Azeez’s Dr. Victoria Javadi will have reduced roles in the third season. [Source: EW]
Bloodaxe
“The Tudors” and “Vikings” creator Michael Hirst’s upcoming series “Bloodaxe” has received a second season order and filming will kick off in Ireland in a few weeks. The order comes months ahead of the first season launching on Amazon Prime Video in early 2027. Hirst and his son, Horatio Hirst, showrun.
The story follows 10th-century Viking warrior Erik Bloodaxe (Xavier Molyneux) and his formidable wife Gunnhild (Jessica Madsen), Mother of Kings. As they fight for the throne of Norway, the land is torn apart by fierce rivals, shifting loyalties, and bloody betrayals. Levi Miller, Rod Hallett, Alina Tomnikov, Sisse Marie, Rune Temte and Jesper Christensen also star. [Source: Deadline
Events at Unity Farm
Geoffrey Thorne (“Batman: Caped Crusader,” “Power: Book II: Ghost”) has signed on to adapt the steampunk mystery puzzle shooter VR game “Events at Unity Farm” into a TV series. He will write and executive-produce alongside his partner, Todd Sharp, and the game’s developer Titan1Studios.
The live-action TV series will follow Ruth Bowie, a reserved teenager descended from a matrilineal line of witches, and her family as they return to the titular farm – a mysterious parcel of land holding untold supernatural horrors. [Source: Deadline
Vigil
The BBC has released a teaser trailer for a third season of “Vigil,” the thriller series starring Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie as DCI Amy Silva and DI Kirsten Longacre respectively.
The pair’s new case takes them to a remote Arctic research station after a member of a covert British special forces mission has been shot dead. Shot in Svalbard and Scotland, the show returns later this Summer.
