Steve Lightfoot (Netflix’s “The Punisher,” “Hannibal,” “Narcos”) has come onboard as co-showrunner alongside Oren Uziel (“The Lost City,” “Mortal Kombat”) as writer/co-showrunner on the live-action “Spider-Man Noir” series at Amazon Prime Video.

Announced back in February, the series will follow an older, grizzled superhero in 1930s New York City during the Great Depression. The show will be set in its own universe and the main character will not be Peter Parker.

The Spider-Man Noir comics debuted in 2009 and has been portrayed twice on screen in animated form – Milo Ventimiglia voiced him for the animated series “Ultimate Spider-Man,” and Nicolas Cage voiced him in “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”.

Acclaimed ‘Spider-Verse’ producers and “The LEGO Movie” directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and former Sony studio chief Amy Pascal who all executive produce.

It marks the second project based on Sony’s Marvel characters setup at Amazon Prime Video and MGM+ with the first being the “Silk: Spider Society” series from showrunner Angela Kang.
