Filing is now well and truly underway in Atlanta for James Gunn’s Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow. A scene has been in progress featuring Lex (Nicholas Hoult) in his war suit being attacked by a crowd of Metropolis citizens.

There’s rumor online that this sequence comes after Braniac (Lars Eidinger) gives Metropolis twelve hours to hand over Luthor, or he will bottle the city. Lex isn’t having any of it, and the citizens of Metropolis think differently. Lex uses a blast of green energy to send the crowd flying, before Superman arrives and the pair fight.

Meanwhile, actress Adria Arjona (Andor, Good Omens) remains rumored to be playing Wonder Woman in the new movie. Others say Maxima. Whoever she is, she’s working out hard to get into the right shape, and has posted a photo of herself preparing in the gym.

Returnees from Superman include Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Wendell Pierce as Perry White.

Wider DCU threads are provided by Frank Grillo as Rick Flag, Sr., Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, and Milly Alcock as Supergirl. Meanwhile, Andre Royo, Matthew Lillard, and Sinqua Walls are new joiners.

Man Of Tomorrow opens in cinemas on July 9th, 2027.
