While the studio hasn’t announced specific numbers yet, the world’s biggest exhibitor AMC Theaters has revealed that pre-sales for Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” have been huge.

Taking to social media, AMC CEO Adam Aron has responded to the admittedly rather chaotic rollout of the film’s premium ticket sales.

Users reported hour-long waits, crashes, and failed checkouts before getting through, while tickets are already being scalped on eBay and the like.

He has revealed the film delivered “our highest first-day ticket sales for any studio-released movie title since 2022” before apologising for long ticketing lines on the AMC site.

He adds that the only first-day AMC ticket sales results since 2022 that beat “The Odyssey” have been for the concert films that AMC Theatres Distribution released exclusively – namely the Taylor Swift ones in 2023 and 2025 and the Beyonce one.

Otherwise, “The Odyssey” has outpaced the “many hundreds of studio-released movies of the past four years”. He also tells fans that “MILLIONS more available seats” are still available for the film which opens July 17th.
