It looks like 2024’s “Juror #2” will be Clint Eastwood’s final directorial effort after all.
The just turned 96-year-old actor/filmmaker has helmed forty films across his career, starting with 1971’s “Play Misty for Me” and including such films as “Unforgiven,” “Mystic River,” “Sully,” “High Plains Drifter,” “Pale Rider,” “The Eiger Sanction” and “American Sniper”.
A few months ago, 3 Hauts de France interviewed Kyle Eastwood, Clint’s son and a professional jazz musician. That interview has resurfaced today, via The Playlist, with the younger Eastwood indicating his dad has essentially retired.
Here’s the interview quote translated:
“I have a lot of good memories of working with him. Now he’s retired, he’s 95 years old. But I’ve been very lucky to be able to work with him on a lot of films. It was a great experience for me.”
Kyle has contributed music to some of his dad’s films, including “Letters from Iwo Jima,” “Invictus,” “Million Dollar Baby,” and “Gran Torino”.
Eastwood did no press for “Juror #2,” which was essentially sent straight to streaming. Eastwood’s last on-screen role was 2021’s “Cry Macho”.
