Empire Magazine has published a new feature going into the details of the upcoming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” which will show us new sides to Peter.

In the film, Peter Parker is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves.

Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.

Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film, which is being helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton (“Wonder Man,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”). Speaking with the outlet, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige says the film sets the stage for the most comics-accurate Spidey to date:

“It is the first Spider-Man film that we’ve made in the MCU that is focused on the classic elements of Spider-Man He’s doing the Spidey thing of living in a rather sad, small apartment, listening to the police scanner and going out and using his great power responsibly.”

Grief has turned Peter Parker towards becoming a workaholic as an effort to cope. Cretton says the hope as we will get to know Peter Parker’s internal emotional state deeper than ever before:

“He is dedicating his entire existence to his job. That’s the core theme that I find incredibly relatable. I think most people at certain points in our lives have gone through loss. At least for me, and I think for many people, the result can be: ‘Screw it. I’m just going to work. I’m going to do nothing else but work.’ That’s obviously not the most healthy state. [Brand New Day] is a more internal movie, and the bigness of it is emotional, not worlds exploding.”

The comments come as toy photos seem to suggest Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner will turn into Savage Hulk in the film.

Also set are Zendaya as Michelle ‘MJ’ Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas and Tramell Tillman.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is set to hit cinemas on July 31st 2026.
