Amazon Prime Video has officially ordered a fifth season of its “Reacher” series, the order coming in months ahead of the fourth season premiere sometime later this year.
Based on the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child, the renewal comes as little surprise, as the show has been a major hit for the streamer.
The series wrapped filming on its fourth season, based on the novel “Gone Tomorrow,” back in November/December last year. Before that, we’re getting the Maria Sten-led spin-off “Neagley” this Summer.
Prime Video announced the renewal a few hours before its upfront presentation on Monday evening. Alan Ritchson will reprise his role as Jack Reacher, while Nick Santora remains as showrunner.
The big question is which of the Reacher novels would be adapted next? Amazon isn’t saying. Ritchson previously indicated his favourite of the Reacher books is the second one “Die Trying”. Others like “The Hard Way,” “Worth Dying For” and “Tripwire” regularly do well in polls.
