Alan Cumming has said that his experiences filming Avengers: Doomsday were very positive, and much more enjoyable than his time on X2, which he described as a “very, very wrong working environment”. Let me guess… Bryan Singer and legions of Filipino go-go boys being mysteriously hired as runners and assistants, right?
He described the shoot, for him, as a “healing experience” after his time on X2. He also let slip that there are still unrevealed characters in Avengers: Doomsday in an interview with Deadline:
“Sometimes there were secret names because they didn’t want to reveal that a certain character was returning, so they called them something else in the script. It was so confusing.”
On the number of heroes appearing, he said:
“There’s so many of them in it. I just can’t keep up!”
The return of Thor has been confirmed, alongside Captain America/Steve Rogers. Obviously, Robert Downey Jr. is back, this time as Doctor Doom. There are many returnees from previous movies, but absent from all announcements so far are Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Also absent are Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Daredevil, and Halle Berry’s Storm.
Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine are also unannounced, but most consider them nailed on to appear at some point.
We will find out when Avengers: Doomsday lands in theaters.
