Netflix has officially announced that the upcoming fourth season of its action thriller series “The Night Agent” will be the final season for the series.
The streamer announced today that the fourth season has just begun production in Los Angeles and will be the show’s last. Series creator Shawn Ryan has also issued a statement:
“Ever since the initial success of ‘The Night Agent,’ I’ve been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland’s journey. I’m so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me on The Night Agent and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans. We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget.”
The third season premiered on the streamer in mid-February and had Gabriel Basso’s Peter Sutherland tracking a dark money network with ties to the Presidency.
Titus Welliver, Trevante Rhodes, Li Jun Li and Elizabeth Lail are all joining the show for the final run, but plot specifics are under wraps.
The fourth season has obtained a California state tax credit of around $31.6 million and is expected to air sometime next year.
