I’ve never been a fan of the football. I went to a game once, with some friends, all because we had never been. It wasn’t that interesting. However, I’m fully aware that lots of people do like the football. In Greenland, they go through a lot to play.

In Greenland, they have the world’s shortest football season. A club from Nuuk, have to overcome obstacles as they travel north in pursuit of becoming Greenland’s national champions.

From the press release. No Place for Football is a feature documentary that explores perseverance, identity, and the unifying power of sport in one of the most remote regions on Earth.

Set along the Arctic Circle, the film follows Nuuk-based football club, B67, as they navigate a series of obstacles as they travel north to compete in Greenland’s uniquely brief football season.

With unprecedented access, the film captures the team’s journey to Ilulissat, as they pursue the title of national champions, while contending with fierce rivals, overcoming physical hardship, and the weight of representing their community.

Through intimate storytelling and Greenland’s backdrop of striking visuals, No Place for Football offers a rare glimpse into life in Greenland, where the world’s most popular sport isn’t just a game, it’s the cultural heartbeat of the world’s largest island.

No Place for Football has its world premiere on the 3rd of May.
