Netflix has unveiled the first official cast photo and the title for “Scooby-Doo: Origins,” its upcoming live-action “Scooby-Doo” series.

The eight-episode series explores how the Mystery Inc. gang first met. The ‘modern reimagining’ is set during a final summer at camp.

Old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely, lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder.

Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.

Maxwell Jenkins (“Lost in Space”) will play Fred, McKenna Grace (“Regretting You”) will play Daphne, Abby Ryder Fortson (“Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret”) will play Velma, Tanner Hagen (“Xander”) will play Shaggy. Paul Walter Hauser (“Black Bird”) also stars.

The series was created by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg (“From,” “Citadel”) along with executive producer Greg Berlanti. Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Andre Nemec and Jeff Pinkner also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television.

Production on the series has officially kicked off in Atlanta ahead of a planned 2027 release.
