The Old West rides again with a fresh edge as Angel and the Badman returns to the screen in a bold new reimagining of the 1947 classic. Backed by Angel Studios, the film blends classic Western storytelling with modern themes of redemption, action, and romance.
Originally made famous by John Wayne, the story follows outlaw Quirt Evans – a feared gunman who finds himself wounded and expecting death. Instead, he’s shown mercy by Penny, a rancher’s daughter who offers him a chance to change his life. But escaping the past isn’t easy. With lawmen closing in and a violent gang threatening everything around him, Quirt must choose between the man he was and the man he could become.
This new version is directed by Julio Quintana and features a standout cast led by Tommy Lee Jones, alongside Zachary Levi and Neal McDonough – all familiar faces.
Producer Jaime Hernandez promises a story that balances heart and spectacle.
With the Western genre making a strong comeback, Angel and the Badman is shaping up to be a powerful tale of second chances under fire.
