“Supernatural” and “Walker” star Jared Padalecki has confirmed he’s set to play Mister Marathon in the current fifth season of “The Boys” on Amazon.
As previously reported, the fifth episode of the final season will feature something of a “Supernatural” reunion. While Jensen Ackles is back as Soldier Boy across the season, Padalecki and Misha Collins will make their debuts in single-episode guest-starring roles in that episode.
Specifics of their roles have been under wraps, though the full trailer a month ago sees the pair wearing tacky designer clothing in a scene where Soldier Boy tries to strangle Collins’ character.
Then today at FACTS Con in Belgium, Padalecki put in an appearance and reportedly said (via TIkTok):
“I can finally say it. We shot it a year ago. We shot in April of 2025 and I’ve been terrified of saying s— because I was like, ‘Jeff Bezos is going to send a SWAT team after me or something.’ Okay, yeah, I’m Mister Marathon.”
In the comics, Mister Marathon was a speedster and A-Train’s predecessor and died during a plane-related incident with Homelander, being replaced by A-Train. Marathon was essentially a parody of the old school The Flash, Jay Garrick.
In the series, Mister Marathon is still alive and has been referred to onscreen before by Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie). He was let go from the Seven for at least several years before the series began, but it’s not explained why.
Previously, showrunner Eric Kripke has stated both Padalecki and Collins will play “such douchebags” and “really not morally upstanding dudes” in the new season. The fifth episode in which the pair will appear will air on April 29th.
