Spring has sprung, which means summer is on the way. We can look forward to overpriced holidays, the weather being too hot, and summer blockbusters at the cinema.
Recently, a couple of outlets released a list of the Top Ten Most Anticipated Movies for 2026, so let’s see if you agree with them.
Toy Story 5 – After the perfect trilogy ending, they keep them coming. This time, it sees Woody and Buzz face off against a new doll, Chucky. Yeah, if only.
Spider-Man: Brave New World Brand New Day – Tom Holland is back as Spidey, this time, joined by the Punisher. Will it get you back into the cinema?
The Devil Wears Prada – Another sequel that no one asked for, and is a few years too late. If you’re trying to impress a girl, though, you might have to sit through it.
The Odyssey – Nolan’s grand epic will probably look impressive in IMAX. We’re taking bets on whether the story takes on different timelines at the same time, you know, like Nolan likes to do.
Scary Movie 6 – The boys are back, and poking fun at the normal horror movies. I doubt this will make me laugh as much as Scream 7 did, though.
Moana – The ‘live action’ remake, which has more CG than the CG version. At least we get to see The Rock with hair.
Minions & Monsters – Another Minion movie, I guess. Honestly, I know nothing about this.
Mortal Kombat II – Now this might be fun, back to basics, people fighting each other, and gory finishing moves. Everyone: MORTAL KOMBATTTTTTTTT…
Supergirl – Personally, I couldn’t make it through the trailer, let alone a 2-hour movie. Taking bets now, will it be a success or a stinker?
Insidious 6 – Wait, there have been 6 of these? I’m not sure which ones these are, the horror without Patrick Wilson?
Is there anything there you’re excited to see this summer? What movies are you looking forward to that aren’t on this list?
